We Welcome Dr. Mohammed Alabsi to the School of Engineering

 

Dr. Mohammed Alabsi joins the TCNJ faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Mohammed Alabsi will be teaching all sections of the Manufacturing Processes course and its accompanying lab sections. He received his Interdisciplinary Ph.D in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and his B.S. in Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineering at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He has research interests in Machine Learning, Adaptive and Fault Tolerant Control, Smart Manufacturing, Machine Health Monitoring, and Mechatronics.

Prior to joining The College of New Jersey, Dr. Alabsi was an Assistant Teaching Professor at Penn State Erie since 2018, where he taught a broad range of mechanical engineering courses and gained experience advising senior design projects. He has published 9 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings. In industry, he worked at Saudi Basic Industry Corporation (SABIC), one of the world’s largest petrochemical manufacturers, as a Control Systems Engineer for four years leading instrumentation and control systems projects during the development phase. Dr. Alabsi is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and serves as a reviewer for the “Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers” (IMechE) and “IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation & Measurement”.
